Its origins date to 1866, when 22 industrialists formed an association to improve the safety of steam boiler technology. TÜV SÜD holds UKAS accreditation (laboratory 0141) for EMC testing at its Fareham site, part of the wider global TÜV SÜD testing, inspection and certification network. The Hampshire lab (plus a sister EMC lab in Bearley, Warwickshire) runs semi-anechoic and fully-anechoic chambers covering everything from small appliances to large defence-industry equipment, with testing available in-lab, on customer premises or wherever the product is installed.
