Roxburgh EMC has manufactured EMC filter products for more than 50 years, and today trades as a division of Alpha 3 Manufacturing Limited following an August 2025 rebrand. The company designs and produces mains, IEC inlet and chassis-mount EMC/RFI filters, including low-earth-leakage variants for medical equipment, from its 40,000 sq ft facility in Scunthorpe. Alongside its filter range, Roxburgh offers a pre-compliance EMC testing service and EMC consultancy support to its industrial and healthcare customers.
Cherry Clough Consultants provides independent EMC and EMI design, problem-solving and training for manufacturers and system integrators, working from DC up to 24GHz against standards ranging from CE (EMC Directive) to DEF STAN 59-411. The company focuses on design-stage risk reduction, including guidelines on functional safety risks caused by electromagnetic interference that have since been adopted by the IET, IEEE and IEC. Its 35+ year client history spans a wide range of sectors (automotive, telecoms, industrial, medical, marine, railway, lighting, gaming and security equipment, plus military and nuclear installations), including named projects like the Diamond Light Source synchrotron and the ITER fusion reactor.
Secure Systems & Technologies was the first company accredited under the CESG Formal TEMPEST Certification Scheme (CFTCS), and operates a purpose-built facility combining TEMPEST design, manufacturing and test-and-certification work under one roof, from a 22,000 sq ft site in Gloucester near NCSC Cheltenham. Now part of Spectrum Control's SSIA business unit (alongside Canadian sister brand Emcon), the company designs, tests and certifies TEMPEST, EMC-rated, rugged and secure communications equipment to the SDIP-27 standard via NCSC's CFTCS scheme, for defence, government and NATO customers, with supplier relationships spanning Airbus, Cisco, Dell, HP, L3Harris and others.
UL International (UK) Ltd holds UKAS accreditation (laboratory 5772) for EMC testing at its Basingstoke site, one of the most extensive commercial EMC and wireless test laboratories in the UK and one of the largest independent SAR testing laboratories in Europe. A 2023 expansion added a chamber covering 30MHz-18GHz plus dedicated capability for smart/connected lighting and appliances (Bluetooth, Zigbee, Thread, KNX, DALI), alongside UL's global EMC standards coverage spanning medical (IEC 60601-1-2), wireless/multimedia (CISPR 32/35), automotive and the IEC 61000 series.
TÜV SÜD holds UKAS accreditation (laboratory 0141) for EMC testing at its Fareham site, part of the wider global TÜV SÜD testing, inspection and certification network. BRE Global holds UKAS accreditation (laboratory 0578) covering EMC testing from its Garston, Watford site, alongside its much broader remit in fire, security and building-product testing and certification under the BRE and LPCB names. Its Electronic Security team runs on-site EMC and environmental facilities supporting LPCB certification of intrusion detection and access control products to the EN 50131/50136 series, plus pre-compliance testing. Its EMC work sits within that security certification scope.
QinetiQ holds UKAS accreditation (laboratory 1936) for RF and E3 (electromagnetic environmental effects) test and evaluation work from its Cody Technology Park site in Farnborough. As one of the UK's largest defence technology companies, its EMC-related test capability sits within a much broader research and evaluation portfolio for military and government customers.
Skyships Automotive runs a UKAS-accredited (ISO/IEC 17025, laboratory 29498) automotive EMC facility in Chelmsford, comprising three semi-anechoic chambers, a bulk current injection chamber, a humidity-controlled ESD room and dedicated conducted-immunity test stands. Testing covers CISPR 25 emissions from 150kHz to 6GHz, ISO 11452 radiated and near-field immunity, ISO 7637 and ISO 16750 transients, and ISO 10605 ESD up to 25kV, alongside the company's own work designing cockpit electronics for specialist vehicle manufacturers.
